Q. What is a Technology Solution Distributor?

A. Previously known in the industry as a master agent, Clarus Communications has rebranded as a Technology Solution Distributor (TSD). As a TSD, Clarus has negotiated agreements with most major vendors in many areas of technology who pay us commissions for selling their services. We do this by working with Agents such as phone and networking providers, communications consultants, MSPs, and any other providers of technology solutions to their customers. We pay our Agents a percentage of the commissions which allows them to propose our services with no cost to the end customer; many times, our savings over the current services can be used by our Agents to offset any of their costs to the customer.

Q. How is Clarus Communications different from other Technology Solution Distributors?

A. At Clarus Communications, we tailor our Agent experience based on what is best for each individually. We know every company is different, so we do not force our Agents to conform to our process, but tailor our process to work best with them. We offer many ways to quote and process orders so this can be done easily in the best way possible, improving productivity and efficiency for all when working on solutions for the end customer. We are not an “auto quote” shop and have dedicated channel, quote, and order managers who are ready to assist our Agents to ensure maximum success.

Q. How much commission does Clarus pay its Agents?

A. As a Tier 1 Technology Solution Distributor, Clarus enjoys the highest commissions available from our vendors. We pay some of the highest percentages out to our Agents in the industry; our policy is to beat any percentage paid out by our competitors. Because of this, in many cases, our Agents receive a higher commission from us than what they would earn working on a direct agreement with the vendor themselves. All our commission payouts are completely detailed in our agent contract and are evergreen in many cases.

Q. How and when are commissions paid?

A. Commissions are paid the 15th of each month on all commissions we receive by the 10th of that month. All vendors pay differently, but on average pay us the month after the service is installed. Most commissions are paid to us as a monthly residual percentage of what the customer bills, and we are paid this commission as long as the customer has the service with the vendor. We pay a large percentage of what we receive out to our Agents and have some Agents that have been receiving commissions over 15 years on their orders. At times, there are upfront bonuses paid by our vendors which can greatly increase the commission amount, and we pass a large percentage to our Agents, as well.
